Mom's Epiphany: Jude is too smart for the "Why don't you watch this fun DVD (so I can give your sister my undivided attention while introducing some crucial penmanship habits)" routine.
Jude the Dude suddenly found the previously diverting Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD to be downright disturbing and had to fuss and cry every couple minutes until we abandoned our penmanship activities to everyone's great relief.
On the upside, we all had fun reading Leo Lionni's Frederick and making thumb-stamp mouse drawings:
