Days 4 & 5

Good thing we made our cake in the morning yesterday, because the power went out in the afternoon and didn't come back for another ten hours. Unfortunately, we didn't get to make the frosting before the outage. So here we are singing "Happy Birthday" to our Lady with a frosting-less cake:

Today, the first day of co-op was cancelled due to the power outage. So, instead, Katherine made yesterday's frosting for what remained of the cake. She made it mostly by herself.

She also wrote me this letter while I was in the bathroom:

Transliterated:
Katherine ad Joode r pl h sec ple f

Translated:
Katherine and Jude are playing hide and seek. Please find us.

I remain pretty impressed. I also find it interesting that she spelled "Jude" with the double O. She must remember that "oo" makes that sound from me mentioning it to her before when reading books together. We haven't had any "real" or official lessons about that. Just goes to show which lessons are truly the real ones!
