First Day of Kindergarten

First things first: We started the day with special outfits (Katherine picked out mine and hers and we put clips in her hair) and a family pancake breakfast. Katherine showed her generous, loving spirit by sharing her special "first day" with Jude by announcing that it was his "first day of preschool" and "Aren't you excited, little brother?!"

Even with the part where Katherine had a mini breakdown of sadness because she was afraid she wouldn't be able to keep her zeros on the writing baseline(!), I'd say our first day of formal homeschooling was a great success. I take for confirmation of this fact that, when I was about to wrap up our schooling after a scant two hours of penmanship and literature, Katherine pleaded, "Please, can we have more homeschool?!? I want to do more homeschool with you!"

Yes! I get to spend my days doing cool stuff with the amazing little people I somehow helped bring into the world, and they thank me and ask for more? Somebody pinch me.

We loved seeing you, too, Jen Marie! We think of you often, especially when we look at Claire and Emily's picture during prayer time. :o)
